2. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text).
• Order information: shipping address, phone number, items purchased, and order value.
• Payment information: we never see or store your card, UPI, or netbanking details. Online payments are processed directly by our payment partner, Razorpay, which is separately PCI-DSS compliant.
• Usage information: pages viewed and products browsed, recorded using a one-way hash of your IP address and browser identifier — never your raw IP address — purely to understand which products and pages are popular.
• Communications: messages you send us via the contact form or email.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To process and deliver your orders, including sharing your name, address and phone number with our courier partners solely for delivery.
• To send order confirmations, shipping updates, and — only if you've agreed to receive them — occasional product updates.
• To respond to customer service requests.
• To improve our catalogue and website based on aggregate, anonymised browsing trends.
• To comply with tax, accounting and other legal obligations (e.g. GST record-keeping).

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers necessary to run the store: our payment gateway (Razorpay) for processing online payments, our courier partners for delivery, and our email service provider for transactional emails. These providers are only given the information they need to perform their service.

5. Data Security

Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing (bcrypt). Payment details are never stored on our servers. We use HTTPS to encrypt data in transit and take reasonable technical and organisational measures consistent with the SPDI Rules, 2011 to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information by writing to us at hello@houseofvijayalakshmi.example. You may also close your account at any time by contacting us; order records may be retained for the period required by Indian tax and consumer-protection law even after account closure.

7. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and to remember your shopping cart. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
